Woking Job club helps those out of work to cope with unemployment

Studies conducted over the last 14 years have shown that 40% of people who are unemployed for 6 months or more will suffer from the psychological and emotional impact of being out of work. Symptoms range from feelings of anxiety and helplessness, through to depression, negative self-esteem, loss of confidence, stress and sleeping problems.

Local GP shows support for Comic Relief by having his legs waxed on Red Nose Day

On Friday the 15th March Reading Walk-in Centre’s Dr Sanjeeve Sockanathan will be undergoing a rather unusual treatment. Unlike the majority of the patients to the centre, who will leave feeling better, Dr Sockanathan will be recovering from having his legs waxed in aid of Comic Relief.

Apprenticeship programme aims to boost the number of young people interested in working in healthcare

Ahead of National Apprenticeship Week, young people employed as apprentices at Virgin Care were invited to London to meet Chief Executive, Bart Johnson. The event was a celebration of Virgin Care’s national apprenticeship programme and an opportunity for apprentices to meet up and give direct feedback about how they perceive the scheme.
