Five brave Devon ladies take on grueling Ride the Night London
A team of five brave local ladies from Tavistock’s (South Hams) Public Health Nursing Team are attempting the UK’s one and only women night cycle through London for three different charities.
Ruth Bushell (Health Visitor), Debbie Palmer (Health Visitor), Ruth Jeffs (PHN Team Leader South Hams), Nicky Freer (School Nurse), and Lesley Peters, Early Help 4 Mental Health will take on the gruelling 100km Ride the Night London event on Saturday 27 May.
The night ride will take them through some of the capital’s famous landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and starts and finishes at Windsor Castle.
The team are raising money for the three main female cancer charities in the UK: Breast Cancer Care, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.
Ruth Jeffs said: “Signing up for Ride the Night was easy but the challenge lies ahead. We’re pleased to be taking part as a team to give each other encouragement along the way to ensure we all make it over the finish line.”
