Jayne Hyde, Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship, Somerset

Jayne is currently completing the Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship whilst working as an administrator in The Learning Enterprise, Virgin Care’s training and development arm, and is based at Milward House in Keynsham, Somerset.

Having started the apprenticeship in October 2017, Jayne is due to finish within the next couple of months. During her training She has developed many new skills and has already progressed in her current role whilst still undertaking the apprenticeship. As well as her administrative role, she has started to manage the co-ordination of many of the apprentices throughout the country.

“I think an apprenticeship is a great way to progress and develop your skills. Apprenticeships are not just for the younger generation – they can be undertaken at any age,” says Jayne who is 59.

“I also think that you get out of it what you put into it. It is hard work but well worth it in the end.”

Jayne has worked in secretary and personal assistant roles since leaving school. She was keen to progress and develop within her role which is why the apprenticeship appealed to her. One of her colleagues, who is now her learning assessor and mentor, encouraged Jayne to undertake the Customer Service Apprenticeship in order to gain the qualification she was always eager to have.
