Martin Lyne

Martin Lyne is director of corporate services, having joined Virgin Care Limited in 2009. As director of corporate services, Martin’s responsibilities cover a wide range of functions including, but not limited to, information systems, human resources, operational mobilisation project support and property and facilities management.

Following education at the Watford Grammar School for Boys and the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Martin’s early career saw him commissioned as an officer in the Royal Anglian Regiment.

In the proceeding twelve years of service, he served in countries ranging from Canada to Kenya, deployed on active service in Northern Ireland, the Middle East and the former Yugoslavia and worked in both national and multinational formations including NATO and the UN.

In 2000, Martin left the services to work as the director of policy and communications for the medical screening component of the Department of Trade and Industry. After three years, he moved to leading supplier of technology, integrated project management and information solutions as part of the core bid team that went on to successfully win a £700m tender for the provision of medical services to the Department for Work and Pensions. From this he went on to be the operational lead for a further successful bid for two Department of Health commuter walk-in centres.

Moving back into an operational leadership role, he successfully mobilised and then managed these services. This work was recognised in 2007 Public:Private Finance Awards, winning the ‘Best Operational Health Scheme’ award and ‘Best Overall UK Project’. < return to Our people
