Overview

Assura Minerva is a partnership between 27 local GP practices and Virgin Care.

The partnership is a provider organisation of NHS services by combining the clinical skills and expertise of the local GPs with the business and service expertise of Virgin Care. Our clinical models enable us to provide integrated care across whole pathways that deliver significant savings for commissioners and streamlined care for the patient.

Our Clinical Management Board (CMB)

The CMB is responsible for the overall running of the partnership to ensure that the best possible service is offered within the community. The CMB also assumes responsibility for clinical governance and delivery of the business plan to the day-to-day responsibility of managing and operating the partnership.

Our services

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Service (AAA)
Our simple ultrasound scan, conducted by a fully qualified sonographer, will easily detect any enlargement of your aorta and allow us to immediately give peace of mind or enable us to explain the options and work with GPs to identify the correct treatment plan. The screening is painless and patients will receive the results during the consultation. Please note this is a private service.

Bath NHS Healthcare Centre
This service provides patients with additional choice and access to healthcare in Bath and North East Somerset. The centre is an 8am to 6.30pm GP service, open to unregistered patients without an appointment, 365 days per year.

NHS Fracture clinics
Assura Minerva runs NHS fracture clinics at Paulton Hospital on a Thursday morning and at the RNHRD (The Mineral Water Hospital) Bath on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon. The service is able to examine, X-ray and treat simple/minor fractures and includes any follow up appointments.

NHS Community Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Service
Assura Minerva has been commissioned by Bath and North East Somerset Primary Care Trust to provide a community DVT service which tests patients who have a suspected DVT. Treatment for positive DVTs is provided by the patient’s own local GP.

Private Minor Surgery
This service provides consultation, advice and treatment from specialist doctors from Bath and north east Somerset practices.

Road Traffic Accident (RTA) Soft Tissue Therapy Service
This service offers physiotherapy services for patients who have suffered soft tissue injury following a Road Traffic Accident (RTA). The service offers treatment for non-fault injury patients only at this stage.
