Special thanks from Essex family after valuable support in helping child sleep
An Essex Healthy Family Support Worker is helping families get more rest with sleep classes, which parents say are helping their child to sleep for longer at night.
Christine Penson, who works for the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, recently received high praise from a Rochford family for improving their child’s sleeping patterns.
The family’s baby now sleeps through the night and the family have the necessary rest they need to recharge their batteries for work and home life.
Christine is part of a service that supports local families with sleep problems, introducing new routines, and adapts the advice and information given around families individual needs by listening to their concerns and specific requirements before setting support plans with them.
Throughout the programme, families are given continued support to help them achieve their goals.
People can access support by speaking to their health visitor who can refer them into the healthy family support worker they work closely with or by visiting their local Family Hub.
The team also delivers a range of workshops such as introducing solid foods, support groups for new parent, and also see families to offer one to one support with specific concerns such as relationships, child behaviour and sleep.
Nicki Lee, Quadrant Manager for South Essex for the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, said: “This service is valuable to a lot of parents who seek help in getting their child to sleep. It is a testament to Christine’s professionalism and work ethic that she has received a special thanks from a family.”
The Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service is provided by Virgin Care in partnership with Barnardo’s on behalf of Essex County Council and the NHS.
