Dr Peter Taylor is our clinical director with overall responsibility for clinical leadership, strategic clinical development and clinical governance and quality.

Peter graduated, with a bachelor of medicine and surgery, from the University of Leeds in 1987 and his hospital training was spent in the Leeds area before becoming a GP in East Yorkshire.

Peter has worked in many fields including disability assessment medicine and occupational health, and is an experienced medical manager. Peter has also worked in a sales and business development environment, supporting the establishment of primary care businesses which allowed him to return to general practice as a part-time practising clinician until 2010.

Peter has a wealth of experience working with the Department of Health and the Healthcare Commission developing and implementing clinical governance programmes. In previous roles, he has overseen the implementation of primary healthcare services across two large healthcare organisations supporting change management and quality assurance.

In the past, Peter had held several roles including clinical director for primary care and chief medical officer.

Peter joined Virgin Care Limited in 2010. He is a member of the healthcare accreditation CHKS Awards Panel.
