Dr Vivienne McVey is our strategy & transformation director and is responsible for leading the transformation of all our services in line with our best practice designs.
Previously holding the role of Commercial Director, Vivienne and her team grow the revenue of the business by developing new service models for service provision in the community, managing Clinical Commissioning Group-led procurements and developing business partnerships with other health service providers ranging from NHS Foundation Trusts, Third sector organisations and other independent providers.
Having qualified in medicine from the University of Cambridge, Vivienne’s career began in 1986 as a GP in London and Beaconsfield before becoming the chair of the Professional Executive Committee (PEC) for a PCT. The PCT was a front-runner in developing practice based commissioning and new ways of delivering health services in the community.
Vivienne joined Assura Group in 2006 and helped develop the Assura Medical business model of joint-venture partnerships with GPs. Originally medical director, with responsibility for developing all quality management systems as well as business development, she was instrumental in the successful acquisition of Assura Medical (which later became Virgin Care) by Virgin in 2010. She became commercial director and a member of the Virgin Healthcare Holdings Board at the end of 2011.
