Karen Millen is the general council of Virgin Care, having joined in 2010. Karen manages the legal requirements of the business ranging from advising on commercial contracts and corporate structures to ensuring that the corporate framework supports the clinical governance requirements of the organisation.
Prior to joining, Karen spent three years as general counsel at a private primary healthcare provider, and was responsible for the contractual and regulatory requirements of the business.
She previously worked and trained at a leading solicitors as a corporate and commercial lawyer, delivering advice to technology and retail clients.
Karen is responsible for ensuring that the legal requirements of the organisation are met and is a great believer in ensuring that a commercial, collaborative and practical approach is taken to legal issues, in line with the organisation’s strategy.
Her role encompasses delivering corporate governance throughout the organisation and supporting and guiding the executive and management teams and the GP companies in their delivery of high quality, patient focussed care.
Karen is a qualified solicitor and a member of the Law Society.
