Surrey District Nurse recognised as top performing student by QNI
A Surrey district nurse has been crowned the top performing student by the Queen’s Nursing Institute.
Pauline Spreadborough (pictured with Theresa Eckley, Clinical Lead for Community Nursing Surrey Heath) works for Virgin Care’s district nursing team in Surrey Heath and received her award for demonstrating outstanding achievement on her student programme.
Pauline’s mentor Carol Cross said: “We’re so pleased for Pauline she’s a valued member of the community nursing team. Not only does she support families and colleagues in need but she does so with great care that helps make a difference to people’s lives.”
Each university in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are invited to nominate a district nurse student.
Pauline picked up a prize of £50 and a certificate which will be noticed at her university graduation later this year.
The Queen’s Nursing Institute has encouraged Pauline to develop further links with the charity and take advantage of the range of support it offers to community nurses throughout her career.
Pauline added: “It is a wonderful honour to have won. I’m pleased to have shared with my mentor for the help she’s given me throughout my studies. It goes to show that if you work hard you can achieve wonderful things and deliver great care to those that need it most.
