Teesside Sexual Health clinic moves to shiny new hub
Teesside Sexual Health Service, run by Virgin Care, has moved to a new, purpose designed clinic space for both colleagues and service users in Redcar to help deliver improvements in sexual health care.
The service moved its Redcar Hub Clinic from Redcar Primary Care Hospital to Redcar Leisure and Community Heart on Ridley Street. The centre already hosts a gym, sports hall, swimming pool, group exercise studio and a sauna and steam room.
It brings the service closer to Redcar town centre and its transport links, making it easier people to gain access to the service, while the service has an additional clinic room (up from three to four) to be see more people quicker during its extended opening hours.
There are also new, longer opening hours as of 12 March for bookable appointments:
- Monday 9:00am – 8:00pm
- Tuesday 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Wednesday 9:00am – 7:00pm (including walk in clinic up until 6pm)
- Thursday 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Wednesday’s walk in service has also extended its hours now opening up until 6pm, offering early evening access for patients after work / college. The walk in service will begin at 1pm.
During the process of the moves, delivery of services remained unaffected.
People can also still use the services’ handy website where they can find out more info on sexual health, book appointments, order free STI kits and much more by simply visiting the sexual health hub at https://www.thesexualhealthhub.co.uk/services-near-you/teesside/.
Lauri Mclaughlin, Service Manager at Virgin Care’s Teesside Sexual Health Service, said: “This move will make our sexual health clinic more accessible for more people to visit while the move will also improve the working environment for our colleagues.
“By being so close to other services provided to local people, we will work closely with them to help keep people healthy and happy.”
