Welcome to the East Staffordshire Podiatry Service in Burton
The Podiatry Team provides diagnosis and treatment of feet and lower limb problems for people who are registered with a GP in the East Staffs area.
More about us
Routine podiatry is provided for those who have an increased risk of developing an ulceration or limb threatening condition. For those that do not meet our access criteria we can offer foot health advice about how to self-care.
We also provide:
- nail surgery to permanently remove troublesome nails
- biomechanics to provide assessment and treatment of conditions in the foot and lower limb which require insole provision
- a multidisciplinary service within Queen’s Hospital, Burton in which our specialist Podiatrist and the hospital diabeteology team deal with wound care for high risk patients.
Although most of our services are provided within community clinics and a few GP practices, we also have a visiting service for people who are housebound.
How to access our services and what to expect after referral
Referral to access the service is via a health professional, i.e GPs, practice nurses, OT or physio for example.
If you are referred to our podiatry service your foot health status will be assessed by a podiatrist and if any need is identified they will agree a treatment plan with you and arrange further appointments as they see fit.
