Welcome to the B&NES Complex Health Needs Service

The Complex Health Needs Service is made up of a group of specialist health care professionals. We provide assessment, advice, therapeutic intervention and support to adults who have learning disabilities and complex health needs.

More about us

This service is for anyone aged 18+ with learning disabilities and/or a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition who lives in the Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES) area and is registered with a B&NES GP.

The criteria for Learning Disabilities eligibility is:

  • A significantly reduced ability to understand new or complex information and to learn new skills
  • A reduced ability to cope independently
  • Both of the above arising before adulthood
  • IQ less than 70

We can help you with:

  • Mental health
  • Counselling
  • Personal relationship issues
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • Equipment
  • Rehabilitation
  • Development of skills
  • Access to other services
  • Accessing and use of community services
  • Communication

Anyone can refer to our service.

Please contact the office for further information and to request a referral form, or download it from this page.

Once you have been referred to the service, a member of the team will contact you to arrange an appointment to identify your needs.

If this is your first time to our service you may require an eligibility assessment first.
