Virgin Care recognises achievements of Wiltshire colleague

Anna Dobie, manager of the Wiltshire Children’s Services’ Single Point of Access in Salisbury, received the ‘Heartfelt Service’ honour at Virgin Care’s Feel the Difference Awards.

The awards are for colleagues who have delivered great care and improved the experience of service users – ensuring that they all ‘feel the difference’.

The Salisbury Single Point of Access (SPA) organises and coordinates patient care and is one of four hubs developed by Virgin Care to improve children’s services across Wiltshire.

Receiving five nominations her colleagues said, “Anna has supported me and five other colleagues through the transition into the Single Point of Access which has brought many changes to our way of working.” “She is efficient, welcoming and very proactive in ensuring that all colleagues feel supported and informed.” “With Anna at our helm, she has guided the SPA team through the muddy waters and stormy seas pioneering the way forward with her calm and reassuring way and efficient manner.”

Anna said, “It was a wonderful surprise to have won the Heartfelt Service award and to have been nominated by members of my own team. I am fortunate to have a wonderful team of colleagues around me. Our clinical, business support and project teams within Wiltshire have all worked so hard together to drive the transformation of our Single Point of Access. I am very proud of all that we have achieved.”

More than 100 colleagues and their guests attended the award ceremony at the Coombe Abbey Hotel, Coventry, after being selected from hundreds of nominations from both colleagues and members of the public.

Stuart Rennison-Price, Chief Operating Officer at Virgin Care, judged the nominations. He said, “It was a very enjoyable but difficult task judging the nominations. Every single one demonstrated the amazing work all of our colleagues do every day.

“I am extremely proud to recognise colleagues from across the organisation for going above and beyond to make a genuine difference to people’s lives. It is very important that we celebrate their achievements.”
