Virgin Care shortlisted for Employee Engagement Award third year in a row

Virgin Care has been shortlisted for the third year running at the Employee Engagement Awards 2017 for the organisation’s Feel the Difference Programme.

The programme, launched alongside a refreshed set of company values to celebrate the organisation’s tenth anniversary at the end of last year, includes a funding programme for colleagues’ ideas, access to training and peer-nominated awards. The programme was designed to ensure colleagues could be their ‘best self’ at work every day, and to help share best practice between teams.

Each service team sets a ‘Feel the Difference’ goal each year for making improvements for people who use services.

The Employee Engagement Awards recognise internal achievements which also deliver external benefits for organisations. Virgin Care has been nominated in the Employee Engagement Enterprise Company of the Year Award for companies with more than 1,000 employees. The judges have shortlisted organisations that could demonstrate the most compelling approach to engaging their workforce.

Since the programme started in 2016/17, there have been more than 130 applications for funding submitted. A peer-panel has awarded more than £40,000 since April funding projects which help colleagues, communities and people who use the company’s services to feel the difference.

More than 200 colleagues have been nominated for the Feel the Difference monthly awards, and attendees at Feel the Difference training sessions have said that the course has helped them change the way they think and reduced stress.

Judges will take into account programmes’ planning, implementation, measurement and feedback when deciding on a winner. The awards will be given out at a ceremony at Wembley Stadium in London on 25th January.
