Virgin Care walk-in centres open as usual over Easter
With Easter, fast approaching, residents are being reminded to examine their options should they or their family members become unwell over the long weekend.
With most GP practices closed, Virgin Care’s walk-in centre services will remain open as usual over the bank holiday weekend, with each service publishing its opening times on its local website.
People can access walk-in services without an appointment, whether they are a registered patient or not, throughout opening times for free NHS services and information as well as advice and treatment for a variety of illnesses and minor injuries.
Anyone worried they will run out of medicine should order repeat prescriptions and collect them before the extended break, with most of Virgin Care’s practices operating 3 day turnaround times, in order to help people avoid running out.
Sandra Mellor, Service Manager at Coventry NHS Walk-in Centre, said: “Bank holidays are a busy time for services like ours so it’s important we offer services so that locals can access healthcare when they need to.”
Information on opening times for all of Virgin Care’s services are available in the Primary Care service hub.
